The Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, Lord Sri Venkateswara, also known as Srinivasa, Balaji, and Venkatachalapati, made Tirumala his abode five thousand years ago. Even before him, Lord Varahaswamy had made Tirumala his property. Then Lord Venkateswara asks Varahaswamy to give some place to give the Darsanam to the people. Then Varahaswamy gives the place to Lord Venkateswara Swamy. The whole temple is spread over 16.2 acres of land.
Where Is Varahaswamy Temple in Tirumala
Lord Varaha Swamy Temple was constructed in Tirumala Hills in Tirupati. It is in the east-facing part of the northwest corner at Swamy Pushkarini. Lord Venkateswara Swamy got a gift of land from Lord Varaha Swamy. In the return, Lord Venkateswara Swamy gives the first darshan to Lord Varaha Swamy. Now we can see that the first darshan goes to Varaha Swamy and then to Lord Venkateswara Swamy. There are 2 angels to protect the Lord Venkateswara Swamy. The 2 angles are in the entrance of 3. In the first entrance, there are two protectors; they are Shankha Nidhi and Padma Nidhi. From the history, the two protectors are put in place by Vijayanagara emperor Achyutha Rayalu and the younger brother of Sri Krishna Devarayalu.
Maha Dwaram
The height has been increased periodically since the 13th century. Now the present height is 50 feet. The other names of the entrance are ‘Padivaakili’ and ‘Simhadwaram.’ On either side of this main entryway, there are two-foot-high statues constructed of alloy metal (Pancha loha). Protecting “Navanidhi, the treasure of Lord Sri Venkateswara,” they are Sankanidhi and Padmanidhi. 3 sequential doors make up the Maha Dwaram: a brass one initially, then a silver one. The 3rd entrance is a golden one.
Bangaru Bavi
The well next to the main kitchen is called ‘Bangaru bavi.’ The water from this well is utilized for Abhishekam, Archana, and to prepare meals for Lord Venkateswara Swamy.
The Story About Alipiri Steps
There are different paths to reach Tirumala. Of those, the most prominent one is the way through Alipiri steps. Crores of people choose this path to reach Tirumala. The meaning of Alipiri is that there are two words, ‘adi’ and ‘puli.’ Adi means bottom of the hill. Puli means tamarind tree. In the way of Alipiri, we can see the Lord Venkateshwara Nija Pada Darshan. In the way of the front, we can see the mokali gundu. We can touch our knees on that mokali gundu to loss our knee pains. There are 3,550 steps there. The netra darshan of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy is on Thursday night and Friday; we can see the netra of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy.

Download ImageOne day Brighu Maharshi was checking who was the greatest between Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar. First, Sage Brighu went to Brahma in meditation, and then Sage Brighu said, Brahma, I am Brighu,came but Brahma couldn’t identify Brighu, and then Brighu was not satisfied with Brahma. Then he went to the Maheshwara. There also he got insulted. Lord Shiva was dancing, and then Brighu said, Maheshwara, I am Brighu.came Then also he got insulted. Then he went to Vaikuntam. There also was Vishnu with Lakshmi Devi. Then he went and kicked Vishnu’s heart. Lakshmi Devi got insulted, and Devi left Vaikuntam and came down to the earth. Then Lakshmi Devi gives an evil spell. From today onwards, Lakshmi can’t stay at Sage’s. After she says it, she leaves Vaikuntam and goes to the town on earth. Then Vishnu also came to search for Lakshmi. He searched all the places, but he couldn’t find Lakshmi Devi. Vishnu sat down at a tree, and he was in deep meditation. He had no food, and then Lakshmi asked Brahma and Maheshwara to give help to Vishnu, and they were Maheshwara in cow form and Brahma in calf form. Maheshwara was in the form of a cow, and he poured the milk inside the anthill to feed the Lord Venkateswara.
As per the divine plan, Lord Venkateswara and Padmavati met each other and then asked the king to marry Padmavati. The king was accepted to the marriage, and Venkateswara asked Kubera for money because now Lakshmi was not with Venkateswara, so he asked for the money. Kubera gave the money to Venkateswara, and from then on, Venkateswara repaid the money to Kubera. Venkateswara paying like bits and pieces, the devotees make their contributions to help the Lord to make the payments in a timely manner.
The Another Name of the Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple
The Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple, another name for which was Bhuloka Vaikuntam. The abode of Vishnu on earth. The Lord Venkateswara has manifested himself in this kaliyugam. To direct the devotees who come to the temple, it was saying the main idol is Lord Venkateswara. Lord Venkateswara was decorated with different flowers and different ornaments daily. Lord Venkateswara is very powerful. Lord Venkateswara is proof for kaliyugam.
A Real Story in Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy Temple on 1979-Nov-7
In the Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy Temple, there was almost no water on that hills. In Tirupati, all the lakes are dried up. Pvrk consult the Veda Pandit Brahma Sri Uppuluri Ganapathi Sastry, Swamy. There is a severe scarcity of water at Tirumala. We can try many solutions to bring the water uphill, but not at all use it. Then he asked, Are you the Veda Pandit? Can you please tell us if there is any solution in the Vedas? Yes, the solution is that we can use Varuna Yagam and Varuna Japam. If the process is done correctly, it will definitely rain. The night before, on November 7th, he went inside the temple at night after the devotees left. He prayed to Swamy, I am starting with your blessings. I believe in Sanatana Dharma. It was difficult to get water in the hill. Show me your mercy.
That was the night the miraculous incident happened at midnight after the priests left. The huge bells next to the Jaya Vijaya statue started ringing. All the bells suddenly rang, and all were shocked. All believed it was Lord Venkateswara giving a hint to do the yagam. On that third day, yagam was completed. Suddenly, the sky was unbelievably blanketed with clouds, and there was a heavy rain in Tirupati. The heavy rain did not end till the next day after noon. By the next day, the Gogarbham reservoir and lakes were overflowing. That is the power of swamys and Vedas.
The Story About Annamayya
In the village of Tallapaka, near Tirupati, there was a young man named Narayanayya. He was sent to a gurukul for his education in his childhood. He put his best efforts into it, but he didn’t have an interest in those studies. He faced so many warnings from his father, and he decided to die. And he went and put the hand in the snake hole, and the snake did not bite the child. And he grew up, and he got married to Lakkamamba. For an extended period, the couple remained childless. And both of them go to Tirupati, and they have one child. That was Annamayya; he was born on 9th May 1408. In childhood he was interested in songs, and annamacharya, destined to compose as he was born with the divine blessing of Swamy Sword Nandaka, was instead tasked with this chore. But Lord Vishnu would not respond.
The answer came when Annamacharya, while cutting grass, accidentally injured his finger, which began to bleed. Upon injuring himself, the boy dropped the sickle and called to his mother. He joined with someone, and going to Venkateshwara Swamy, he was climbing 7 hills when the goddess Alamelu Mangamma, in disguise, approached him and advised him to remove his footwear. Then the goddess herself fed Annamacharya the holy offering (pasadam) of Swamy. Filled with joy, he climbed the hill and experienced the sacred darshan of swamy. Years later at Ahobilam Kshetra, Annamacharya received the Narasimha mantra from Shathakopa Muni. Annamacharya lived nearly 95 years, during which he composed 32,000 sankirtanalu. Ultimately, he preserved his entire collection of sankirtanalu on copper plates within Ananda Nilayam. Finally, on Phalguna Bahula Dwadasi in the year 1503, Annamacharya departed from the physical world and became one with the divine sword Nandaka of the Lord.

Download ImageShe was born in Tarigonda in the year 1730. She had a lot of devotion from a very young age. She was sitting and going to the meditation. At a young age, Lord Venkateswara appeared in her meditation and told her that he is her husband. From that day onwards, she was firm that Lord Venkateswara is her husband and she is his wife. Then her parents want to do something and forcefully marry her to a young boy. In her youth itself, her husband died without even touching her. But she doesn’t mind that her husband died because she trusts the Lord Venkateswara is her husband. In that time also, she was in sumangili form. She faced many problems in that village, then she went to Tirumala, and she slept in the temple, and in Tirumala, she also faced many problems. She got a small house because of Lord Venkateswara, and she went daily to the temple and did the first harathi every day. But one day in the temple, people say you can’t come to the temple. Vengamamba goes to the house and cries a lot. She was planting the tulsi for Lord Venkateswara.
Lord Venkateswara consoled her, telling her not to feel bad, and made a commandment that, every day in Tirumala, the last service to the Lord should be offerings of Vengamamba’s Aarati. Lord gave a boon to Vengamamba that she will offer Aarati to him every day till the end of Kali Yugam. She was a poet; she wrote poems. The poem is named Venkatachala Mahatyam, which contains all the details of Lord Venkateswara’s marriage. Lord Venkateswara came to Vengamamba’s home and listened to the poem every day. After the incident, Vengamamba’s fame spread, and many people started coming to see her in Tirumala. Then she prayed to Lord Venkateswara because her meditation was disturbed. Then Lord asks her to become sajiva samadhi. He said that her descendants will continue to offer him aarati even at her sajiva samadhi. He told her that she will daily come out of her samadhi in a subtle form and will take part in the aarati service. But only she and Lord will be able to see each other. She won’t be visible to anyone else. She taught her the process of offering aarati and told her that her descendants should continue the practice. After arranging this, she entered into sajiva samadhi.
